H.W. Coates is a leading UK chemical warehousing and transport company, noted for its extensive COMAH-regulated storage, a fully ADR-compliant vehicle fleet and top-tier European 3PL SQAS scores. With over fifty years of operation, the debt-free business prioritises long-term investment in its infrastructure and champions innovation within the Hazchem Network, while also adhering to high environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.
H.W. Coates needed a solution to create covered drive-through loading/unloading areas and temporary transfer storage at their Grangemouth location. They wanted to protect goods from the weather during transfer and provide temporary storage to prevent damage while handling staff moved items into the warehouse. The land at the Grangemouth site was unsuitable for a traditional building, requiring piling and HW Coates needed a fast solution.
Zappshelter provided H.W. Coates with 11 shelters at their Grangemouth location. These included a standalone 14m x 12m shelter, a standalone 17m x 18m shelter, and eight additional modules that combined to create a large warehouse with a capacity of 2000 pallets or IBCs. The shelters, with spans of 14m and 17m and a height of approximately 10m, were all block-mounted for space efficiency.
The Zappshelters provided H.W. Coates with covered drive-through loading/unloading areas, protecting goods from the weather during transfer from one truck to another. They also created temporary transfer storage, preventing damage to goods while handling staff moved them into the warehouse.
Mark Brimley, Senior Director, remarked, “Thanks to you and a great team for doing a fantastic job for us!”
