Logistex Secures Rapid Warehouse Expansion with Zappshelter

The Company:

Based in Northampton, Logistex provides intelligent supply chain and logistics solutions. They specialise in designing and building fully automated warehouse systems for their clients, incorporating complex infrastructure like pallet racking, cranes and conveyors. The company is committed to delivering large-scale engineering projects on time and to the highest standard.

When a major new contract was secured, Logistex urgently needed additional space to facilitate the build. Zappshelter was chosen to deliver a rapid, reliable, and flexible temporary structure to meet this requirement.

The Challenge:

When Logistex won their new project, they immediately faced a significant hurdle: they didn’t have enough warehouse and workshop capacity to facilitate the build.

The project involved constructing pallet racking, cranes and conveyors for a state-of-the-art automated warehouse. Not only did they need a vast undercover area to assemble and house this equipment, but they also required sufficient overhead clearance for large HGVs to safely reverse in and out for daily loading and unloading. With deadlines looming, waiting months for a permanent building to be constructed was out of the question; they urgently needed a high-quality solution.

The Solution:

The solution was “Paula”, an enormous 14m wide x 49m long Zappshelter, provided on a 12-month hire agreement to match the duration of the project. Designed to accommodate their specific access requirements, the Zappshelter was completely enclosed and fitted with large 5m x 4m steel doors at both ends, allowing heavy goods vehicles to seamlessly drive in and out.

The timeline of this project was exceptional. The rental agreement was officially signed at the end of February and by the second week of March, their brand-new Zappshelter was fully installed and operational.
