Peter: My First Month at Zappshelter

My name is Peter Laird, a project consultant here at Zappshelter. Every day I focus on turning clients’ visions into reality, with the aim of getting them undercover fast.

What were your first impressions of Zappshelter when you joined and what has surprised you the most about the company so far?

Joining Zappshelter has been a superb experience. I’m able to utilise my existing expertise in construction sales and sharpen it further by joining such a well-developed company. Everything from the induction, through to being taught how to use the systems, has been on point.

What’s surprised me the most is the culture, it’s second to none. You can really feel the strong family vibe. This hasn’t made me feel like an outsider, though. If anything, as each day passes, I feel more and more part of the Zapp family.

Can you share a ‘lightbulb moment’ you’ve had on a project or during a site visit where you really saw the value of a Zappshelter in action?

I had a great opportunity to visit a local company, Woods Coaches, in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire. They have a Zappshelter installed that they use as a workshop area for their coach maintenance.

It was incredibly windy, we were right on the back of a yellow weather warning, but the Zappshelter was pristine. The owner of the company was also on-site and was absolutely delighted with the performance.

Critical operations and people were well protected, even in adverse weather conditions.

It really helped drive home our ‘Protect What Matters’ slogan.

What are you most excited about for the next six months and beyond at Zappshelter?

What excites me most is continuing to further develop my skills as a Sheltologist.

It’s not just about personal growth; it’s about becoming a true expert who can genuinely deliver the right solution for our customers. Every time we do that, we’re delivering on our promise to protect their people, products and profits.

With such a progressive company, I’m genuinely looking forward to being a key part of that mission as we grow over the next six months and beyond.
