Tarmac needed a durable and weatherproof solution to maximise their covered salt storage within a restricted, oblong-shaped yard. Their 2,500 tonne stockpiles were previously covered with sheeting, but this proved ineffective—exposure to moisture can lead to clumping, dissolving and leaching. A traditional build wasn’t an option due to time, cost and space constraints, so they required a fast, efficient and reliable alternative.

The Zappshelter Solution:

Zappshelter provided a purpose-built 49m x 8m shelter, designed specifically to optimise space within the tight yard. Open at both ends for ease of access, the shelter was securely mounted onto precast concrete blocks – maximising storage capacity while eliminating the need for complex groundwork or lengthy planning approvals.
